Ray has spent most of his adult life in service to the citizens of El Dorado County, proudly highlighted by representing District II on our Board of Supervisors for eight years beginning in1993 and for another six years starting in 2008. 

Improving Our County Government

  • Led Our County Back From An $8 Million Deficit To A $21 Million Surplus During The 1990’s Recession.
  • Balanced 14 of 14 Consecutive Budgets
  • Led The Successful Measure P Passage Fight That Now Requires The Board of Supervisors To Get Voter Approval Before They Can Raise Your Taxes.
  • Led The Successful Measure H Fight To Guarantee Funding For Our Roads.
  • Authored Our Term Limit Law That Requires County Supervisors To Take A Time Out Period After Two Terms Before They Can Run Again
  • Succeeded In Helping Add A Lane To Highway 50, Build The Cameron Park Library and Establish More Parks And Ball Fields.

For Our Citizens

  • Led local efforts to stop the unfair Calfire SRA Fees
  • Helped reform overreaching AB 885 septic tank regulations
  • I introduced the adopted resolution that took the politics out of CCW licensing
  • Succeeded In Helping Add A Lane To Highway 50, Build The Cameron Park Library and Establish More Parks And Ball Fields.
  • Led The Successful Fight To Pass Our County’s Right To Farm Law, To Protect Agriculture And Preserve Our Open Space.
  • Led efforts to resume recreational gold dredging which used to bring thousands of gold seeking tourists to our County
