NUTTING ENTERS SUPERVISORS' RACE

Placerville, CA – Former two-term Supervisor Ray Nutting filed papers today with El Dorado County election officials to place his name on the ballot for the District 2 seat on the County Board of Supervisors.  A fourth generation El Dorado County resident, Nutting served with distinction on the Board between 1993 and 2001.

“I want to serve the Citizens of our great County,” Nutting stated. “We have an obligation to preserve our special blend of rural and semi-urban communities. They need to be protected and allowed to prosper. We also have an obligation to our seniors, working families and County employees. Their needs and concerns must become a priority. We cannot fall back into the ways of the past and change is a necessary part of growth and modernization.

“Our County must seriously address several important local issues: traffic congestion, inadequate road maintenance, preserving senior services, securing adequate water supplies, retaining experienced Sheriff’s Deputies, improving fire protection, and the condition of the County’s infrastructure,” explained Nutting.

“More importantly,” Nutting continued, “the next Board will have to deal with several looming problems, including: the County’s growing financial crisis being hastened by this current economic downturn, keeping County offices staffed sufficiently enough to serve constituents properly, and seeing that we receive all the Federal and State funds to which we are entitled.”
